the Papermorphosis® technology is purely mechanical, no chemistry is involved. It can be operated inline but also as a stand alone unit offline a paper machine

As the Papermorphosis® process is carried out at a dry content of 65%-85%, according to paper type and quality, it is possibile to remoisten papers, to treat them for stretch or longitudinal flute, and to dry them. All this can happen in a continuous process.
The version of a stand alone unit off line the paper process offers an interesting tool for:

• Paper makers who do not want to modify their fully booked paper machines
• Converters who want to buy any paper from the market and to customize them with needed stretch in house
• Corrugate producers

We can process papers from long fiber to recycling grades or bagasse paper.

the Papermorphosis® technology as such consists in two independent mechanical principles/units: XXBELT and XXL

XXBELT

MD stretch far over 20% arriving also to 40% on top of a paper’s MD base values.

CD stretch to a maximum add on of 8% on top of a paper’s CD base values. Different surface structures enable ranges of increases in CD-stretch, according to paper grade

XXBELT has been industrially tested for proof of concept. It can either be retrofitted in existing paper machines, or run as stand alone units off line a paper process

WELLIXX- longitudinal corrugate
By just changing 1 cylinder and a parameter, a novel longitudinal flute can be produced instead of stretchable paper.

XXL – family

The XXL-FIXX unit exists as pilot version because still lacking a spare-part of industrial dimension.

 Only CD stretch up to 20% on top of a paper’s CD base values, can be further treated with XXBELT.

The XXL unit can be operated the opposite way, prestreching a web in CD to 2%-4%, compensating the loss of width due to drying and generating an increased CD-stiffness of around 10-15%.

The combination of XXL and FIXX leads to a pumping effect for the localized impregnation of paper with additives off the wet end. The very center of the sheet can be reached with the additive.
